This tree use to be the only tree on top of a hill. It was old and beginning to rot on the inside. People in the area use to call it hang mans tree due to some kids hanging a dummy from it back in the 80's. One night it got hit by lightning and caught fire which the local fire department came and put it out. The tree still stood. A year or so later it happened again.. and again the fire department came and put it out. A few years after that during a bad wind storm the poor tree was knocked over. To this day it still sits upside down just over the crest of that hill.
This picture was taken in 2010 and was the back drop for my wedding pictures.

Just thought I would share my first ever real attempt at the moon.  I shot this Feb 7, 2012 while sitting in the middle of the Mexico High School track. Camera: Canon 60D / Lens: 70-300 @ 300 mm, f5.6, 1/200s, ISO 100.  Got a handful of nice ones... and handful of TERRIBLE ones... but this one was my keeper.  While sitting out there... I thought of a really old book I once read. "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress".  It is a rather funny and quirky science fiction read.... just felt the title reference was fitting. :)   Hope you enjoy the shot! :) Cheers ~ Aimee

Lots of activity in Oswego today at the Warm Up Oswego festival. No snow for any snow-related events, but it didn't stop lots of people from showing up and having a good time! This evening, they launched fireworks from the old train bridge between the Bridge and Utica street bridges. It was a pretty good show and I was standing almost directly underneath.
